Anonymity

Please know that the administrator of this website is a real person, and if you use an email address with your name this will be visible for the administrator. The information regarding your identity will, of course, stay with us, but if you want to make sure to be completely anonymous we advise you to use an email address without identity-revealing information.

Regardless if your name is visible in your email, you will always be asked whether you want to use your name and age at the end of your post. And we will always respect a no.

If for any reason, at any time, you want us to unpublish your story, please contact us at hi@ithelpstotalk.com. Make sure to use the same email address you used when you sent it in the first place, which makes it easier for us to find it on the site.

Posts

We encourage you to write as freely and as honestly as you’d like. There are no rules for your storytelling. However, we will leave out names and personal details of people you write about, as we are cautious of slander. We appreciate it if you keep that in mind when you start writing.

Don’t hesitate to contact us if you need guidance or support while writing. We’d be happy to help you if you struggle with putting the words into sentences.

Trigger warnings

If a story contains details that might trigger strong emotions with the reader, we will put a trigger warning at the top of the post. Please send us an email if you think we should add a certain warning in a post. We think it’s best to give readers a heads up, just in case.

Comments

One of the purposes of this platform is the writing, a chance for you to hopefully experience the effect of opening up. And the idea is that if you read, relate and maybe want to reply or give advice, you should be able to do so in the comments.

For this to work, we all need to be thoughtful about the way we express ourselves, and to always use an undertone of respect in every comment. This is supposed to be a platform for support, gentleness, and togetherness, not for critique or challenging questions. Every brave person that shares their story on this site is going through something we might not have experienced ourselves, and we should always keep that in mind.
